A note from Ollie's new family: 'ollie is sleeping under
the table in my office while I type this out. Send the adoption
papers over-he has been just great-both Jaye and I are pleased
to have him on our lives. Other than chasing the cats (and he is
just curious) no problems. He is getting along great with the 12
yr. old husky/dalmatian. Making lots of doggy noises and giving
everything a good sniff. He did his first set of stairs on
Friday and had his first hamburger off the Weber. He bonded up
with me the first night by jumping up on the coach with me. He
sleeps on the love seat. So all is well. Thank you for
saving him!!'
Meet Oliver, or as we like to call him, Little Romeo. Oliver is
an absolute doll and gives the best hugs! He’s a quiet,
unassuming dog who gets along well with other dogs, cats, and
kids. Unfortunately at some time in his life, someone was not
very nice to Ollie and as a result he is still suspicious of
most strangers. It’s as if he’s pleading
"Please be patient with me. I'm still learning how to
trust!" Not to worry though, if you’re willing to give him the
benefit of the doubt and about 10 minutes to come around, Ollie
will reward you with the utmost adoration!
He loves to chew
and play with toys. He loves it even more if you play with him
and enjoys a good game of tug-of-war with a rope toy. When Ollie
is excited, he makes this charming “woo-woo” sound to get your
attention, he’s just a complete ham! Oliver pulls quite a bit on
his leash and needs some more leash training. He has had some
experience with a gentle-leader which makes walking him much
more enjoyable. He is very easy to train and extremely
responsive to our training methods. We think it would be tons of
fun to take Ollie to obedience classes because he would just be
the star of the show! We know Oliver isn’t flashy and doesn’t
stand out at all from any other black lab mix in the world, but
he really is an amazing, sweet dog that would make a fantastic
addition to any home. Won’t you give him a second look? |
